About

Hi I’m Cansu, pronounced Johnsu.

A UX designer, based in Washington D.C.

In my work, I use a holistic approach to solve complex problems, combining big picture thinking and a keen eye for details. Thanks to my strong market research experience and a master’s degree in Communications, I instinctively focus on users’ needs and habits to come up with intuitive solutions.

Prior to UX, I had a consistent background in research and consumer insights, where I learned to bridge the gap between the clients and their users. My job was to identify business needs, design and manage the appropriate research, and to deliver insights with actionable recommendations. Now I find that all my past experience has molded me into a thorough and insightful UX designer.

My perspective and motivation

Came from Istanbul, spent a year in Lyon, and now living in the US. I am highly adaptive to different environments embracing diversity and inclusivity.

Looking for functionality, aesthetic and integrity in everything. This is a way of life for me. So I use the same philosophy in my designs.

Always been a drawer, trying to convey complex ideas to others with pen and paper. Always been the number one in Taboo Quick Draw! So I am a strong believer in visual communication.

A real theater lover and a traveller who believes in self-renewal.

This is briefly me. I am happy to get in touch!

“thank you for the effort and dedication to trying to understand the true problems that exist and getting to the bottom of a practical, innovative solution…”
